About Us

About the Honor Flight Network

In May of 2004, our nation completed the construction of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the sacrifices of the "Greatest Generation." Sadly, because of their age, financial constraints or health concerns many of these veterans may not have an opportunity to see their monument. Honor Flight Twin Cities is happy to offer free flights to World War II,  Korean War, and Vietnam Veterans to Washington D.C. to see their Monuments.
Since inception, in May 2005, 223,000+ Veterans and 162,000+ Guardians from across the United States have been safely transported as guests of Honor Flight. The 501c (3) Non-Profit Honor Flight Twin Cities is in a partnership with the National Honor Flight Org. The 26th Honor Flight sponsored by HFTC for Minnesota and Western Wisconsin for World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Veterans will be on Monday, October 6, 2025. WWII,  Korean, and Vietnam Veterans living within a 70-mile radius of the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport may complete an application for Honor Flight. The Veterans and Guardians on these ONE-DAY Excursions called Honor Flight Twin Cities will leave the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport from the Hubert Humphrey Charter Terminal 2 on Sun Country Airlines at 6:00 AM and return at 10:20 PM. A Homecoming Party will be waiting for them when they return to the Hubert Humphrey Terminal.

In the 16 years since our first flight in 2008, Honor Flight Twin Cities has had 25 flights with 5,000 participants and sponsored 130 flyovers.

Funds are needed to pay for the charter aircraft, tour bus service, hats, tee-shirts, Honor Flight Pins, meals, a biography book, and Video and Photos of the Veterans and Guardians on the flight. All are provided FREE of charge to WW II and Korean Veterans. They have Paid Enough for their services to America. 78 trained Guardians will personally escort the 78 Veterans on the aircraft and accompany them throughout the day. We have secured 50 Wheelchairs on the buses for the Veterans who have some mobility issues. Guardians donate a $500 Tax Deductible contribution for the trip.
